Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) tool comparison report

Managed the content operations of a multi-author report comparing 14 GRC tools to help a government client select the best solution.

The problem

Different contributors had different writing styles, and with multiple authors, the report lacked a consistent voice and tone. Additionally, the structure of the report was inconsistent, making it difficult for stakeholders to follow and understand the content.

What I did

Using the client's preferred style guide, I standardized the writing style across all sections of the report, ensuring a consistent voice and tone throughout.

I also streamlined the structure, added tables or charts to improve comprehension, and tightened the headings to make the whole document easy to scan.

Additionally, I coordinated with the various authors to ensure that risks and benefits were aligned and accurately represented throughout the report.

The restructured table of contents shows how the report became easier to navigate:

Before
  • Program and project management
  • Market research objectives
  • Service or product description
  • Background
  • Potential supplier information
  • Other pertinent information
  • Performance requirements
  • Market intelligence and industry analysis
  • Conclusions and recommendations
After
  • Executive Summary
  • Market Research Report Overview
  • GRC Tool Service and Product Description
  • Industry Analysis
  • Potential Suppliers
  • Vendor Analysis
  • Conclusions, Risks, and Next Steps

The outcome

The client was able to make an informed decision about which GRC tool to purchase.
